Project SINAG visited Mariano Marcos State University for a collaboration meeting on September 28-30, 2022. The site visit commenced with a courtesy call with the MMSU President, Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis.
A collaboration meeting was held with the faculty and staff members of the MMSU College of Engineering (MMSU COE) to discuss possible avenues of partnerships. Solar installations on the campus were inspected, including their 40-kWh installation at the National Bioenergy Research and Innovation Center (NBERIC). The NBERIC Building, which advocates the development and optimal use of bioenergy, was designed to be a net zero energy building.Â
A lecture on the Introduction to Solar Energy and Geographic Information Systems and a training workshop were conducted, and a hands-on laboratory activity was conducted with the guidance of the team members of Project SINAG. The GIS Training Workshop on Solar Energy Resource Assessment was attended by eight faculty members and nine students from the College of Engineering.
Project SINAG thanks Engr. Arlene Mia Ruguian (Chief, Center for lnnovative Materials in Emerging Applications), and other members of the Mariano Marcos State University for the warm welcome.
